Our regional paper, the Columbia River Reader hosts an annual haiku poetry contest called Haikufest.
This year there were 204 entries. I won First Place in the Traditional Category with this poem.
Poppies remember;
their petals silent witness
of true sacrifice.
Check out the other winners at: http://www.crreader.com . (I wrote under the pen name Adele Brown because I’m a regular contributor to the Reader.)
Have a wonderful weekend!
